The Olympic Athletes From Russia team scored a winner in overtime to beat Germany 4-3 and take the men's ice hockey gold medal. Germany cruised to victory in the Winter Olympic four-man bobsleigh while there was a tie for the silver medal. The two Great Britain crews came in 17th and 18th. Sweden outclassed hosts South Korea to regain the women's curling title. Norway's Marit Bjorgen won gold in the women's cross-country skiing mass start, the eighth gold of her career and 15th medal overall, in the final event of the Games

Havard Lorentzen Men's 500m It's gold for Norway! Havard Lorentzen is the man in gold, silver for Korea's Cha Min Kyu and China's Gao Tingyu is down in third. Bobsleigh - men's two-man final heats Canada and Germany shared the two-man bobsleigh Winter Olympic gold medal as a remarkable race in Pyeongchang finished as a dead heat. Canada's Justin Kripps and Alexander Kopacz posted a combined time of three minutes 16.86 seconds after four runs - the same time as German pair Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis. 1. Austria's Matthias Mayer wins men's super G Austria's Matthias Mayer produced a brilliant run to win the men's super G and claim his second Winter Olympics alpine skiing gold medal. Gold medal events Mikaela Shiffrin wins giant slalom gold at Pyeongchang Winter Olympics American star Mikaela Shiffrin won giant slalom gold in the first of her five events at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. The 22-year-old, who is also set to race in the super-G, downhill, combined and slalom, finished 0.39 seconds ahead of Norway's Ragnhild Mowinckel. Shiffin is expected to challenge for four golds, more than any alpine skier has won in Olympic history. She dropped to her knees and sobbed with joy after victory was confirmed. Italy's Federica Brignone took bronze, almost half a second behind Shiffrin.

1. Chloe Kim wins halfpipe gold medal for United States American snowboard sensation Chloe Kim produced a brilliant performance to take gold in the women's halfpipe. The 17-year-old won with a score of 98.25 on her final run with China's Jiayu Liu taking silver and United States' Arielle Gold winning bronze. Kim had already secured gold with her first run score but improved to win by eight-and-a-half points. German Laura Dahlmeier completes biathlon double Laura Dahlmeier became a double Olympic champion after winning the women's 10km pursuit in Pyeongchang. The German biathlete, 24, had a 24-second head-start after winning the 7.5km sprint event on day one. And she became the first woman to complete the Olympic sprint-pursuit double after winning in a time of 30 minutes 35.3 seconds. Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina was 29.4 seconds behind, beating Anais Bescond of France for the silver medal. At last year's Biathlon World Championships, Dahlmeier won five of the six golds, plus a silver, and she claimed her first Olympic medal in the sprint. Simen Hegstad Kruger wins skiathlon gold in Norway 1-2-3 Norway's Simen Hegstad Kruger made a remarkable fightback to win gold in the men's skiathlon at the Winter Olympics. Kruger, 24, was last and had to replace his poles after colliding with two other athletes in a congested start. Yet he took the lead in the penultimate lap in Pyeongchang and raced clear to win in one hour 16 minutes 20 seconds. Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Hans Christer Holund made it a Norwegian 1-2-3 while Team GB's Andrew Musgrave claimed seventh place. Kruger finished eight seconds clear of Sundby, the 2014 bronze medallist, while OAR athlete Denis Spitsov came fourth after also being involved in the collision. The men's 15km + 15km skiathlon is a mass start cross country event in which competitors swap techniques midway through the race. The German almost swept the board at last year's Biathlon World Championships, winning five golds and a silver in the 7.5km sprint. But the 24-year-old went one better in Pyeongchang, winning in a time of 21 minutes 06.2 seconds. That was 24.2 seconds ahead of Norway's Marte Olsbu, while the Czech Republic's Veronika Vitkova was third. GB snowboarder out of olympics

British snowboarder Katie Ormerod is out of the Winter Olympics in Korea after suffering a severely fractured right heel in training on Thursday. The 20-year-old medal hopeful suffered a minor wrist fracture in practice on Wednesday but was still intending to compete in Sunday's slopestyle. But the British Olympic Association (BOA) has confirmed she will undergo surgery on Friday. The Games in Pyeongchang start on Friday and run to 25 February. Mike Hay, Team GB chef de mission, said the team were "deeply sorry" and "desperately disappointed" for Ormerod. Dan Hunt, British Ski and Snowboard's performance director, added: "Her determined and fearless nature will see her come back from this and reach the exciting potential and future that is ahead of her.
